Do I need to install a GFCI breaker when using a portable charger?

Yes. The NFPA 625.54 (Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection for Personnel) states that all receptacles installed for the connection of electric vehicle charging shall have ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI) protection for personnel (regardless of the receptacle outlet’s location).
